CONNECTED SOLAR CREAM, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, THE PASSAGE OF THE PRODUCT TO THE SERVICE
Connected sunscreen- a new challenge for cosmetology :
Only 37% of sunscreen users know enough sunscreen to apply. Only 5% know the definition of a UV index and 10% know the ABCDE rule to analyze a mole.
Even worse, the numbers are only slightly better for people who have had melanoma or carcinoma.
It is to meet this need SPINALI DESIGN (specialized in digital, connected clothing and artificial intelligence) decided to launch a collaboration with the CNRS, the UHA (University of Haute Alsace through the MIPS laboratory) and UNISTRA (University of Strasbourg through the HUMANIS laboratory).
Initiated from April 2017, this collaboration aims to bring new information to the user when applying sunscreen.
How it works :
Specifically, the user will be able to scan sunscreen capsules with a Smartphone before applying the cream for the latter to calculate the amount to apply, the frequency of application and the conditions of use.
Thanks to a self-learning algorithm, it will be possible for everyone to obtain the best protection.
Better yet, if the user is equipped with a NEVIANO (swimwear connected by SPINALI DESIGN), the associated application can be even more precise in the calculation of exposure risks.
Artificial Intelligence :
These new protection functions have become gradually available thanks to the use of artificial intelligence systems. They analyze in place of the user all the parameters to be effective in terms of sunburn alert but also in terms of good skincare practices.
The analysis of billions of combinations made possible by artificial intelligence makes it possible to provide adapted and effective advice and recommendations.
Prevention remains the initial goal of these new technologies. Living in good health is a widely shared wish.
Moreover, very quickly, self-learning algorithms should make it easier to prevent a sunburn.
Behavioral evolution :
Beyond technology, the company SPINALI DESIGN has approached the University of Strasbourg, in order to follow the evolution and change of behavior that can be observed in the use of these new technologies.
This is indeed a key success factor for these innovations.
Presentation at the CES of Las Vegas :
The first results were presented on the sidelines of the CES de Las VEGAS in early January 2018.
The placing on the market will take place for the spring of 2019.
Made In France and exportation:
SPINALI DESIGN remains faithful to the principle of international influence and its local inking.
Design, application development (for Android Smartphone and IOS) and medical research are done in Mulhouse.
The laboratories connected with the universities are located on the Upper Rhine and the Lower Rhine.
Collaborations are in progress with French or international laboratories.
The target market is mainly export with Germany, Switzerland, North America, Japan and Australia.
